Healing is a proof
Why should we focus on healing?
Why should a change from sick matter to healthy matter be so important if, as Science Health explains, matter is nothing?
Healing is a proof, an evidence, a demonstration.

How do we heal?
Doctors, magnetizers, etc. attempt to heal.

Our human experience is a manifestation of our consciousness
Science and Health explains: Mortal existence is a dream of pain and pleasure in matter, a dream of sin, sickness, and death; and it is like the dream we have in sleep, in which every one recognizes his condition to be wholly a state of mind. (SH 188:11).
Now I ask, Is there any more reality in the waking dream of mortal existence than in the sleeping dream? There cannot be, since whatever appears to be a mortal man is a mortal dream. (SH 250:22)
Mary Baker Eddy adds in her pamphlet Unity of Good: Everything is as real as you make it, and no more so. What you see, hear, feel, is a mode of consciousness, and can have no other reality than the sense you entertain of it. (Un. 8:5)

The human mind is the source of our problems. It cannot solve them. You don't make fire with ice.
The human mind is what calls itself John or Patricia, and believes it has a citizenship, a past history and a mortal life. It says: "I can, I want, etc."
Jesus said: I can of mine own self do nothing. (John 5:30)
Science and Health explains that self-immolation is fundamental (SH: 1:6).
The Christ is our spiritual selfhood. (SH 38:24). The Christ does the healing.
When the human mind, for example, is stuck with a belief of flu, the Christ, the truth about our perfection will be perceived and will replace the belief in sickness by a realization of God's allness and present harmony.
Once the belief in disease is gone and perfection is revealed to consciousness, the human experience manifests this state of thought and this is what is called a healing.
